Mittagong Ball 2009

Jan and Paul Stevens-King and their committee in the Southern Highlands have been working hard organising the 9th Annual Ball at the Mittagong RSL Club. What a night to remember!

The social highlight of the Southern Highlands, the theme of the evening was ‘The Phantom and his Lady’. Local businesses donated goods and services for the auctions and the Mittagong RSL Club provided a fabulous meal for guests to enjoy whilst laughing, chatting and generally having a fine old time! Dr Fruit Loop, Dr B Looney and Dr Quack were trying their antics on guests which meant that raucous laughter could be heard wherever they were.

Over $48,000 was raised, bringing the total amount to more than $300,000. What a fantastic support The Southern Highlands Committee is to our Clown Doctors™ Program. Congratulations to Jan and Paul.

Kiama Lions Keep Sick Children Smiling

In August, the Lions Club of Kiama held their first Clown Doctor fundraising social event, a night of fun, quizzes, socialising, music and dancing, thanks to efforts of Bobbie and Chris English, Wendy and Peter Scifleet and the rest of the wonderful team.

The evening started with a heart warming and funny speech from Peter Spitzer who informed guests how important Clown Doctors have become within the hospital setting. The community of Kiama came out in force and everyone had a really great night! Dr Fruit Loop and Dr Quack roamed the room, making people laugh with their jokes, madness and silly pranks! Over $10,000 was raised which will create 1000 smiles on sick children’s faces. Congratulations and thank you to all at the Lions Club of Kiama.
